Teeth move even after 2.5 yrs of braces
I had gap between front 2 teeth of about 5 mm.
After having braces for 1.25 years i wore retainers 24/7 for 1 year.
For the next 1.5 year (till the date) i am night wearing it.
Still the gap comes back of about 1 mm if i miss wearing it for a night.
Should i continue night wearing it like this, but won't this moving apart and close of my teeth everyday make them weak?
Or should i go for permanent retainer, but won't my teeth become dependant upon this support that if after several years i get them removed in future they would become weak?

Your case as per the description is called midline diastema, it replases very fast due to different Factors like high frenum attachment etc
Next Steps
keep wearing the retainers for some more time if u feel the gap is increasing then get fixed retainers, it generally does cause any problem and are pretty much comfortable
