Clenching has adverse effects on the TMJ. It exerts more force over the joint that might result in complications in the near future. You need to eliminate or reduce the teeth clenching habit
Next Steps
visit your nearby dentist for a physiological session. understand the side effects of clenching, have a clear picture and try reducing clenching.
Health Tips
reduce stress always remember- if ur clenching is due to anger....anger only destroys cells. the next time you clench now....u know that it has bad effects and tune your mind to avoid the habit if the habit is uncontrollable- visit your dentist and make use of habit breaking appliances if the clenching is involuntary or you clench in unconscious state - wearing a night guard will help. The primary and main treatment lies in you understanding and self-explaining your own self that you should stop the habit of clenching.

Clenching places stress on the TMJ joint and articular disc causing wearing out of joint and disc resulting in pain and muscle fatigue. Wearing out of teeth with resultant problems can also arise. If you clench at night then wearing a night guard will help
