If only the roots of the back teeth are remaining due to decay, they generally need to be removed rather than capped. Since your SSC CPO medical examination is only a few days away, you should get them examined by a dentist as soon as possible. If the roots are infected or badly decayed, delaying treatment may cause pain or swelling.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist urgently for an examination and X-ray. If extraction is required and there is enough time, it can usually be done under local anaesthesia. Your dentist can also advise you regarding your medical examination based on the actual condition of the teeth.
Health Tips
Do not try to hide or temporarily cover the remaining roots just for the medical examination. If there is active infection, it is better to get appropriate treatment. Avoid chewing on that side and maintain good oral hygiene until you are examined.
