Depends on the case. Braces are put either one arch at a time or both. It all depends on the treating doctor's judgement. The pressure you feel reduces over the month as the teeth move. It is normal. Wait for your next appointment.

Many time both braces are not places together to reduce lengthy appointment. However, there are definitely certain factor r which doesn't allow orthodontist to place both upper and lower braces together. Yes, tightness and pain/discomfort  reduces after 3-4 days after your every appointment, but this is very normal. There's is no as such complications to correct the forward Ness of teeth, however difficulty level differs for every patient.
