Taking birth control major mood swings
I have anxiety, depression and ADHD. I take Risperidone, trazodone, wellbutrin and klonopin. I also have PCOS and was prescribed Tri-Lo-Sprintec. I haven't taken it since January. I decided to refill my script and started taking it last thursday. The problem is I'm going through an emotional time because my grandmother is dying. Since re-starting the birth control, I have been having major mood swings, anxiety and crying fits. I'm wondering if I should stop taking the birth control for now.

As far as the recent problems resurfacing un your life due to use of contraceptive pills, let me inform you that birth control pills usually affect the blood levels of other medicines. In your case most likely due to increased metabolism of anti depressents you may be having lower blood levels than needed for having effective control on depression and anxiety.

Ideally to have the earlier effects with antidepressants without loosing the contraceptive benefits of birth control pills., it is advised to make slight adjustmet to dose of other medicines. Clonopin, wellbutrin and risperidone dose needs to be increased. But u need to consult you psychiatrist for exact titration of same.
