Symptoms after D&C

My wife's last cycle was on 14th November. D&C was done on 8th January. No bleeding at all afterwards. 22nd Jan, 23 Jan she passed thick brown tissue. She has not got her period yet. When can we expect it? Is this normal? What should be our next step?
