Is the swelling painful? If it is just a swelling without pain, you can wait out the night and see a doctor tomorrow, it will most likely be a gum abscess or a tooth abscess. You can use a gel called metrogyl dg for temporary relief. If it is very painful, please go to a chemist and buy combiflam tablet, take one now and one in the morning and take a doctor's appt tomm morning.

Dear Sir, It seems that you are suffering from gum disease which has been worsened by smoking.  Kindly visit a dentist and get a check up done. For swelling you can do warm saline rinses. That will provide relief for now.
