Spotting mid cycle, before ovulation

I usually have a 4 days cycle, same this month as well. After periods I had spotting (mostly brown discharge) on day 8&9 also my ovulation test was negative on these two days. Since this has never happened before I am little worried, please confirm if this is normal.

Not normal Bleeding or spotting more than 7 days needs to be investigated n treated Get an ultrasound pelvis Papsmear Perspeculum examination to rule out erosion cervix
