Can someone suffering from spondylitis continue doing yoga? If not, how can we cure spondylitis? Please help

While suffering with spondylitis it is highly recommended to wait and do not perform yoga untill it recovers. Take treatment for yoga through physio sessions the later you can start yoga.

Very good question, yes they can continue doing Yoga, Let's understand this first in simple language it is a term used for age related changes in spine. Now pay attention - your hair also becomes grey with age, which is not characterized as a medical problem. But in case of spine it is characterized as medical problem. When some body starts developing gray hair they can put colour. Likewise practicing yoga regularly makes you feel younger because of better metabolism. So keep doing yoga, maintain healthy diet, engage yourself with physical activities, For management of painfull episodes take Physiotherapy treatment and pain medication as advised  by Orthopedician

Hi mam. May I know what kind of spondylitis are you referring to? There are ankylosing spondylitis, cervical spondylitis n if patient above 50-55 then degenerative spondylitis. As you are in Bangalore, let me know, I can assess n advise u properly.

Some yoga to be avoided... Spondylitis is degenerative joint disease.. so can not cure it... But u can stop progression of disease... And reduce pain..

Yes definitely, Spondylitis is not that much hard conditions that can prevent you from your daily routine. All you have to do is do some proper exercise focus on core and strengthen your weaken Muscles and you are as good as to ho with yoga. But any exercise without prescription can cause severe pain so i advise consult Physiotherapist before doing any exercise at home.

Just do not bend forward or backwards, dont sit on floor and don’t sit in cross sitting.
