My husband snores very loudly and sometimes there are apnea episodes following sudden gain of breath.

Snoring and obstructive sleep apnea needs complete evaluation U need to visit in person for that. U may require a sleep study

Snoring can be caused due to :- Obesity Mouth anatomy. Having a low, thick soft palate can narrow your airway. Alcohol consumption. Snoring can also be brought on by consuming too much alcohol before bedtime. Nasal problems like sinusitis, DNS, Nasal polyps. Sleep deprivation. Sleep position.
