Hello. There are different types of sleepers - 1) the short sleepers who sleep less than 6 hours, 2) the average sleepers who sleep between 6 to 8 hours, and 3)the long sleepers, who sleep more than 8 hours.
We all go through sleep cycles of 90 mins of both different stages of sleep called REM (rapid eye movement) and non REM sleep. So throughout the night we go through several such cycles. We dream in REM and we are in deep sleep in NREM. If a person who is an average sleeper has to wake up in between his/her sleep cycle, it leads to disruption of the cycle leading to tiredness, decreased concentration, drowsiness and also irritability and anger.
In a way, I would say you are gifted that you have an 8 hour cycle. So it is wiser to adjust your day according to your sleep rather than your sleep according to your day. If this is leading to relationship issues or work issues, then those have to be dealt with rather than interrupting your sleep.
