If you feel there is darkening of skin and tanning, avoid scrubbing, as it can lead to more trauma and more pigmentation.
If you could share the picture of darkening of skin, I would be able to tell quite better about diagnosis and treatment.
Sun protection is a must, use a sunscreen (you may use suncross soft lotion) at 8am, 11am, and 2pm daily. Use physical methods of sun protection.
There are many treatments available for hyperpigmentation, like kojic acid, azelaic acid, hydroquinone, etc, but I will be able to guide you better what to use, after seeing pictures and diagnosing.
The patches on hands appear to be hand dermatitis, it will be benefited with topical steroid and moisturizer and anti allergic medication.
