The white patch on your forehead may be due to contact leukoderma (chemical-induced depigmentation) or post-inflammatory hypopigmentation, especially since you mentioned it appeared after applying tika during puja. Some substances used in tikas, cosmetics, or creams can irritate the skin and affect pigment cells. However, since the patch is spreading, it is important to also rule out early vitiligo, which can sometimes start as a small white patch on the face.
Next Steps
Many cases improve gradually over 2–3 months with proper treatment, but the exact medication depends on clinical examination and the type of depigmentation. Since the patch is increasing day by day, I would strongly recommend a dermatology consultation. You may also take an online consultation and share clear photos of the patch, so that the condition can be assessed properly and appropriate treatment can be prescribed early to prevent further spread.

A white patch on the forehead that appeared after applying a substance (like tika or cream) and is now spreading could be due to chemical leukoderma, contact depigmentation, or early vitiligo. Sometimes certain substances such as chemicals, perfumes, dyes, or sulfur-containing products can trigger loss of pigmentation in susceptible individuals. Since you mentioned that a similar issue occurred in the past and it is increasing in size now, it is important to get it examined properly. Early evaluation helps to confirm the exact cause and start treatment early, which improves the chances of repigmentation and stopping further spread.
Next Steps
A dermatologist examination with dermoscopy or Wood’s lamp may be required to confirm whether it is chemical leukoderma or vitiligo. Based on the diagnosis, treatment such as topical medicines or light therapy may be advised. You may consult me online with a clear photo of the lesion for a better assessment and guidance on the appropriate treatment.
Health Tips
Early treatment usually gives very good results in facial white patches, so it is better to address it as soon as possible.
