Skin dryness

I have a pimple prone skin...through which I had so many marks on my face which wasn't leaving me since past many years...so consulted a doc last month...in which she had given me tablets to control pimples and also light moisturizer and cleanser and also cream to apply in the night for pimples...I started applying it overnight which caused dryness in my skin...after that I consulted the doctor again and she asked me to stop it..and continue applying moisturizer...itz going to be a month already i have my whole face dried and skin peeling no softness at all...I drink lot of water... haven't applied any cosmetics on my skin since I have consulted the doctor...still I am worried how to reduce this dryness 😭...it is too much irritating to handle a skin like this.
