Should i change hypertension medication
Should I change my hypertension medicine telma 40 for 1 year , which is an ARB drug in wake of corona virus . I read that corona interacts ACE enzymes and because of the drug there can be more ace enzymes in the body.
So should people using these medicine be advised to take some category of hypertension drugs like calcium channel blockers etc.

Yes you have heard it right that coronavirus affects the ACE receptors of the body. So theoretically , people taking ACE -I /ARBs are at greater risk, but practically its NOT SEEN. Rather, controlling tour bp is the main key thing here.Dont worry about the medications

As of now there is no clear indication that ace inhibitors/ arb increase the severity of Covid 19 . Hence need not change the medicine .
