Scanogram for whole spine

2024-02-20 12:13:14
I'm suffering from low back pain and cervical pain. A specialist asked me to get MRI for whole spine done. However, due to claustrophobia issues, I freaked out as soon as the process began. Can I opt for Scanogram instead? Will it help?

There are places which do open MRI these days. Enquire if you can access it. Although it might be slightly more expensive than conventional MRI, you’ll get valuable information which you can’t get through other means of investigations
Next Steps
Physiotherapy and medications as suggested by your doctor till the MRI is done

I think MRI would be more suitable as it can detail the soft tissues and nerve pathology better instead of a scanogram it’s just used to see limb length discrepancies
Next Steps
You can opt for a standby anaesthetist to sedate you during the procedure if the lab provides for one generally they doo or in big centres
Health Tips
Consult with your doctor before doing so as he might advice you better based on your medical history or if you really need it or you can avoid it
