Rugae on palate

Rugae on hard palate can be assymertic ,I have left side rugae is more flatten than right,it  is like these for long time

Did u know palatal rugae r asymmetric & unique in every individual, like fingerprints  they can also b used in forensic  identification. U should be concerned if asymmetry is large plus associated with pain, redness, irritation.  If  d size changes with duration. Hope it helps n provide u mental piece.

It is normal for rugae not to be symmetric. If you are still concerned tell your dentist to have a look at the time of your regular dental check up
