I had a root infection. An RCT was done to fix it. It was done shoddly and the infection came back, also the apex of the tooth is not closed. Will extraction relieve all of my problems?
If the tooth is reinfected, it means the root canal was not done properly and the apex not properly sealed. Please go for a retreatment from an endodontist and there will be no need to extract the tooth. Open apex is not a problem ..it can be dealt with.
Extraction is the last option these days, try to save it by doing re RCT,even if u do remove that teeth u may have to replace it with the help of bridge or implant which is far more costly than doing a re RCT..
Next Steps
meet a good endodontist and tak his opinion,If he s telling that it can't be saved then go fr extraction and go for replacement procedures
