Hi , rewetting eye drops are nothing but isotonic nacl saline solution , It can be used over the  contact lens , to have a irritation free eye , but side effects like preservatives are there where you can get allergy to it .
Next Steps
1) IF u have irritation , use this normal contact lens solution well to clean the lens once or twice , and then before wearing the lens put , one or two drops over the lens and then wear it 2) if you have still irritation, dryness the. can use either refresh tears or genteal eye drops 3) method of usage - put these tears drops into the eye first then wear the lens, also after wearing if u get irritation then there u can use on and off
