Can a retinal tear, hole and detachment be detected in a direct opthalmoscope. I had my eyes tested 10 days ago with indirect opthalmoscope and was told that they are perfectly normal. So can I have retinal detachment 10 days after?

Hello A.  With direct Ophthalmoscope, it is very difficult to see holes or tears in periphery of retina. Indirect Ophthalmoscope is best tool B.  Retina may get detach anytime. Kindly share your symptoms so that I may guide you better Regards
