It is simple cause of lots of diseases. Agnimandya,  reduced gut fire i. e.  Reduced production or strength of digestive enzymes which help in digestion.  It can be due to unhelthy eating,  over eating,   intake too much sweets or intake of more water. You may even have felt disturbances in hunger.  Having a small amount of cardamom helped digest your food propely without any residue.
Health Tips
Avoid eating to the full extent of your stomach.  1/2  of your stomach - food 1/4 of water.  it will help you a lot. You can have water in between your food to enhance digestion. but in small amounts.  While eating concentrate on eating. With these you can get rid of always eating cardamom after your meals.

Agnimandya, your digestion power was reduced and you were over eating, on eating cardamom it helped in faster and efficient digestion. -Eat only 3/4 of your stomach don't fill your full stomach -Eat only after the previous food is digested. -Eat only 3 times and day and follow the same timings everyday. - optimum exercise - water intake 2 liters You will not even need cardamom..
