  4. Regarding ANA positive. Vast difference!

Regarding ANA positive

I did a complete blood test, which included ANA. It shows ANA ( Elisa) positive, value 89.93!! My orthopaedic said it's too high just for my mind, i repeated the test from a different diagnostic centre and here it different format. Can someone guide me if both the reports have same value or if there is a vast difference

For ANA test, indirect immunoflurocence(IIF) is the recommended investigation. ELISA is not. Your IIF shows weakly positive which often is not significant for any autoimmune disease. However if you have joint pain, skin rash and other symptoms suggestive of SLE or any other autoimmune disease, please do ENA profile to confirm and contact a rheumatologist.
