Recurrent fever post TURP

My father had enlarged prostate and had recurrent UTI. He underwent TURP surgery 2 months ago. Since then, he has been experiencing recurrent low-grade fever (around 99°F). The fever resolves while he is on antibiotics but returns within a few days of stopping them. His urine culture repeatedly shows E. coli. Occasionally, he also notices small black particles or yellowish pus-like material in the urine. There is no high-grade fever or severe chills. Could you please guide what to be done?

Persistent E. coli infection after TURP needs evaluation, not repeated antibiotics alone. Get a urine culture, imaging, and consider cystoscopy to look for residual tissue, stones, abscess, or a foreign body. Consult promptly.
