Re-infected rc treated tooth
I had got root canal done on my tooth around 5 years back which started giving me pain and swelling intraorally since a year. Few doctors have advised me extraction while few of them have advised re rct. What should l go for? It is in a bad state

Re-treatment is a difficult decision to make especially if the tooth is in a "bad state"!
The decision almost always depends on whether the tooth can be restored (given a crown) with a decent to long-term prognosis or not (after the repeat RCT).
If so, the time and expense of Re-treatment is justified. If not restorable, extract and plan an implant (the best possible replacement) in its place.

Take multiple opinions from Endodontists who do quality work. Post a CBCT or at least an intraoral Xray for more informed opinion.

Hi if your tooth already root canal treated then re root canal treatment can be done ..but if you are having pain since an year and your tooth is in bad condition then then prognosis will br poor ..for definitive treatment extraction will be advisable ..you can go for implant or bridge to replace missing tooth
