I have a rct on my front tooth 7 years ago but did not get a crown. Now i want to get a crown. Do i need a re-rct? What is the procedure and total time required for it.
dear sir,
if there is no pain in tooth or any kind of sensitivity then you can directly go for crown.
for front teeth e max crowns are best option if structure of tooth is in good condition.
hello,
visit a dentist and get it checked. get an x-ray done. if there is infection to the root of the tooth, you need to get it treated again. if not, then get a crown placed over it.
If the tooth is asymtomatic, and has not changed colour, and looks fine when you smile, you may not also need a re root canal, maybe even a crown. If you do preferably go for a full ceramic Emax crown and not a zirconia / Metal ceramic crown. Go to a dentist who has a idea of ideal anterior shade matching.
when you will visit a dentist they will take an x-ray and check whether the RCT is proper or not, if not then re-rct is done and then will do the crown.
If there are no symptoms we can safely assume that the RCT is doing fine till now..... but still it would be better to go for a simple x-ray before proceeding with the procedure for the Crown..... the total time depends upon the lab cost which is variable for different types of Crowns, which may take from 2 to 4 working days.....
Regards
Hello Sir
Greetings of the day. If the tooth does not have any pain only a crown will be enough. But in case it has any pain a x-ray should be taken to stay in the safer side. The cost of the crowns vary from type to type and the minimum procedure time will be 5-6 days including the dentist time and the lab time.
