Rabies vaccine required?

2024-01-22 03:44:15
Hi I completed my anti rabies vaccine course on 3rd November 2023. My cat is having liver problems and while giving him medicines, he scratched me. He is not vaccinated. Though I'm wearing woolen gloves he's foaming from the mouth due to the strong smell of the cat medicine. Otherwise, he's drinking water normally (no rabies symptom). But my wounds contact his saliva through my woolen gloves but I wash my hands thoroughly and apply Dettol. Do I need booster shots or anything?

Hello sir , Since you have completed vaccination just two months before you don’t require any booster dose the vaccines is valid for another 6 months so after that if you get injured by an animal then you can take booster dose of anti rabies vaccine after consultation with a doctor
Next Steps
Kindly clean the wound using plain water
