Rabies or Tetanus

2026-08-28 19:03:34
Hello everyone one day I was playing cricket and suddenly I threw the ball meanwhile my hand stuck on a net so the pain started after it but it got okay in 2 days after that i felt some throat clenching brain fog and pain in jaw and face firstly i thought these are symptoms of tetanus but after a month I am okay so then I thought is it rabies but I didnt remember any dog or any animal biting me what can it be or is it due to anxiety as mostly when I am gymming I dont feel these issues they keep on getting okay and coming back.

Neither rabies nor tetanus. Tetanus does not come and go for a month, and rabies needs a bite or lick from an infected animal - a cricket net cannot give it. What you are describing - jaw clenching, throat tightness, brain fog, symptoms that vanish in the gym and return the moment you think about them - is classic health anxiety with muscle tension. Your thyroid is worth rechecking too, since an off TSH feeds exactly this. Get TSH, CBC, vitamin B12 and D3 done, and keep a Td booster in mind only if your last tetanus shot was over 10 years ago. Consult me on Practo with those reports and we will settle this properly instead of you looping on it.
Next Steps
Get TSH, CBC, vitamin B12 and D3 done, keep a Td booster in mind if your last tetanus shot was over 10 years ago, and stop searching symptoms online. Emergency only if you ever get true difficulty swallowing, jaw locking or breathing trouble. Book an online consult with me and we will sort the anxiety part properly.

Rabies is unlikely if no animal bite. Take tab flexon m.r one every 8hours after meals for 3 to 4 days for muscle relaxation. If symptoms persist, get mri head done and share results.

Symptoms have been for a month without worsening is a good sign no it's not rabies without a animal exposure; a consultation can help assess the jaw and. throat symptoms and anxiety related muscle tension safely.

This is not rabies for sure but yes you might have tetanus for which you have to get vaccine withing 72 hrs of injury But if you still get these kind of cramps on usual basis you need to get complete work up related to tetanus infection
