Ra problem in mother
Sir my mother recently diagnosed a ra ... arthritis issue...and the doctor general physician says no cure...but I search online in practo. And two doctors say it's curable...means manageable...so sir .it's really managed...and.is it reduced life span.... Or other issues

-Control Hypertension, Diabetes or metabolic disorder, if there is any.
- Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding.
- Keep a pillow under the knee.
- Avoid painful acts & activities.
- Fomentation with warm water. -Let the part not be exposed cold.
-Do mild exercises for the affected part.- back and lower limbs
-Any way it may be tried,
--. Ugesic (Piroxicam) 20mg 1tab once a day x 5days
--. Caldikind plus (Mankind) 1tab Once a day x 10 days.
Kindly make sure, there is no allergy to any of these medicines.

With today's medicines which have minimal side effects and very good efficacy, RA is very well managed like Diabetes and Blood pressure. The key is to give medicines which prevent joint damage.
I hardly see any patients with deformity these days which was very common 20 year back. The key is to be regular with follow up.

It’s a chronic condition which can be well managed with plethora of medications depending on the aggression of the disease(the pathology will remain in the body but the progression can be stopped). It cannot be “cured”.
Life span is not affected per se(if well under control) .
