I would suggest extraction only is tooth structure is broken off until gum level and only roots are visible. If there is just a pulp stone root canal is still possible. Get an xray of tooth done before going for any further treatment. Also get a second opinion before removal.

Pulp stones do form in long standing chronic infection cases but usually they can be removed and rct can be done..only in few cases extraction is required kindly take a second opinion before undergoing extraction..tc

An xray of the tooth will help us provide a better suggestion..... if you are talking about pulp stones they are common findings in long standing cases of tooth cavities..... most of them can be removed or bypassed and proper RCT can be done to avoid extraction..... nonetheless extraction might be the only solution if the tooth is decayed beyond repair..... and to comment on that an x-ray will be the primary requirement..... Sometimes pain presist during the root canal procedure. Single sitting rct only saves your time. Tooth will take some time to heal. If rct is done well. Then pain will subside after few days. if pain remains then there may be problem with rct or tooth.
