Pulled elbow

My 14 month old baby had a pulled elbow 2 days ago and was taken to the hospital immediately. There was no swelling or deformation. The orthopedic doctor set it right within a minute and baby was moving her hand normally within minutes. The doctor prescribed ibugesic syrup and advised to use an arm sling, but the   baby is not comfortable and is adamant on not using it. We are totally unable to restrict her from using that hand since she is small. Please advise if it is necessary and if it could cause any harm in future if arm sling is not used. Shall be grateful for your advice. Thank you.

Pulled elbow occurs by pulling the baby  by forearm or hands. So Lift the child  by holding from trunk. It usually  does not  occur after 4-5 yrs Age. Do no massage on the elbow.

Arm sling is only for comfort. If it is pulled elbow - normally won’t cause any problem in future
