> Hi. First of all, please don't panic. Based on the values you've shared, you have not necessarily progressed to diabetes in just 2 months. Your previous HbA1c of 6.0% suggests prediabetes, not diabetes. A single post-meal sugar of 174 mg/dL after a full plate of white rice, potatoes, and dal does not confirm diabetes. That meal is rich in carbohydrates and can temporarily raise blood sugar. Your fasting sugar of 104 mg/dL is still in the prediabetes range. Stress, poor sleep, illness, and even anxiety about sugar levels can also affect glucose readings. Eating one mango daily alone is unlikely to be the sole reason for this change. I would advise you to continue your evening walks, reduce the portion size of white rice and potatoes, increase vegetables and protein in your meals, and avoid checking sugars too frequently, as that often increases anxiety. Please repeat an HbA1c after 3 months (or earlier if advised by your physician). If fasting sugars remain consistently above 126 mg/dL or 2-hour post-meal sugars are repeatedly ≥200 mg/dL, then further evaluation is needed. With timely lifestyle changes, many people with prediabetes are able to bring their sugar levels back to normal. You're already taking positive steps, so try not to let one reading discourage you.
Next Steps
Continue a 30–45 minute brisk walk at least 5 days/week. Reduce refined carbohydrates (white rice, potatoes, sweets) and increase vegetables and protein. Monitor fasting and 2-hour post-meal sugar once or twice a week instead of daily. Repeat HbA1c in 3 months and consult your physician with the report.

HbA1c 6 suggestive of prediabetes. No need to start antidiabetic medicines now .Just make dietary and lifestyle changes.Regular exercise, stress management and caloric restriction.Again check HbA1c after 3 months and monitor blood sugar level
