Please explain me report

Hi it's a MRI report of knee ..can you please explain the meaning of the observation which is written on the report ?? What is abnormal altered signal intensity appearing hyperintense on PD / STIR sequences are seen in lateral condyle of femur and etc ?

Normally the musculoskeletal observation in MRI will have certain characteristics in the signal intensity. Here it is mentioned as hyperintense in STIR . STIR is a fat suppression technique. This changes in this patient could be due to Inglammation,infection,trauma,neurological or neoplastic. The report has to be co related clinically as well as th proper history of the patient.

MRI report should be correlated clinically with sign, symptoms and your case history. As per this report there is swelling in your lower femur bone on outer aspect ( outer knee ), mild swelling is also noted in inner side of knee. This condition can vary from mild pain to moderate pain depending upon stage, onset and mechanism of injury. You should consult an orthopaedic specialist for the same
