My plcr percentage is 65% what should I do now? What is reason behind increased plcr%. How it can be reduced now
1271 Views
An increased PLCR (Platelet Large Cell Ratio) of 65% indicates larger platelets, often due to increased platelet turnover or bone marrow activity. Common causes include infections, inflammation, vitamin B12/folate deficiency, autoimmune conditions like ITP, bone marrow disorders, or post-splenectomy status. To address this, identify and treat underlying conditions, ensure a balanced diet with adequate B12 and folate, and consult a hematologist if PLCR remains high. Correlating with platelet count and repeating the test can help rule out transient causes. Managing lifestyle factors and chronic conditions is essential for normalization. Further investigations may be required for persistent abnormalities.
