Persistent low grade fever

Hi, my father has been having persistent low grade fever (between 98.6-100.4) for about 12 days now. He was treated with antibiotics for the last 5 days. Today was his last day of antibiotics. He has no other symptoms. First 3-4 days initially he had throat irritation and body aches. That went away and isn't there anymore. 1 dolo a day is controlling the fever now. What could it be and when will he get better? No other symptoms now other than low grade fever. CBC was normal with WBC count slightly high at 11,200. Chest X-ray was normal but physician suspects mild pneumonia. Negative for typhoid, malaria, dengue.

In such cases we start doing further investigations like Urine culture, Blood culture,  Peripheral smear for abnormal and immature cells, Bone marrow biopsy and so on.
