Hi
Fatty
liver is not caused by eating fats .
So there is a deep understanding of pcod and lot of research which has come up . Pcod is a condition where there is insulin resistance and high insulin levels in body which alters the harmones in your ovaries.
Carbohydrates are the real problem . We eat a lot of carbs in Indian diet . Our body utilises how much we need after that the excess has to go to the liver and try to store it . First it stores as a product called glycogen and hence can be utilised for immediate needs but even if there is excess carbs beyond that level , liver starts to convert it to fats . Hence we get fatty liver . It is a very common condition in Asians . Also you can’t lose weight in pcod for the same reason as high insulin in your body acts like growth harmone substitute . This prevents burning of fat .
The real issue hence is carbs.
Solution : if you reduce your carbohydrates significantly from your diet and instead eat more of proteins and fat , initially you will feel a bit low on energy but after one week you feel much better fresh and u start losing weight .
There are 2 ways you can do it
1) keto diet or low fat diet
2) intermittent fasting
These are the most advanced treatment for the pcod and weight loss which is important for long term health too. You are at risk of having long term
diabetes and this way you can reduce the risk significantly
Next Steps
