The left sided lower gum is swollen and it is causing me immense pain. I am unable to eat properly. I had done gargling with hot water and salt once and that did give me some relief but no visible results. What to do??

It looks like you have swelling in the lower gum which can be due to infection or food stuck between teeth. Since you are  having severe pain and difficulty eating, it is  important to take care of it early. It can be wisdom tooth infection very common in lower back side
Next Steps
