A common name used for this condition is "Shin splits". This mostly happens when you run after a long break or run without adequate stretching/warmup. It also happens if you run on hard surfaces like concrete or roads. If you have the symptoms for sometime and you continue to run, it will not settle down completely.

Before starting your run, do adequate warm up and stretches.Try and run on softer ground or non-concretd surfaces. Make sure your shoes are well fitting and soft.Reduce the duration you run and gradually increase it.
