I've been having pain in the root canal treated teeth, the pain is little when teeth is idle and it is more when teeth is touched or while chewing, I had x-ray of that teeth and it seems that the infection is still there and it is increasing, So should I go for re-root canal or extract the tooth and put a new or other anything other.please do tell me what to do.

Kindly provide complete details.. When was RCT done ? Was there any pain before RCT ? How many days/weeks after RCT did you start experiencing pain again ? Once I have this, and a pic of your recent x-ray, I shall be able to provide an honest opinion. Regards Dr Rishi Aggarwal MDS Endodontics LUDHIANA

Hi .. ur tooth can undergo a Re-RCT provided ur previous RCT procedure on the same tooth did not create any obstruction or blockages.. if not, please go for it.. An Endodontist maybe required.

If the x-ray shows that the infctn is stil there,it's better to do re rct with a specialist provided u hv enough tooth structure left.i suggest u not to remove the tooth, why u should remove it whn we can save it.with a good specialist that tooth can be saved.

Please post an x-ray of the tooth after the root canal treatment was over for us to give a better opinion. Re RCT can always be done for a tooth if it was not done correctly earlier or has got Re infected. Extraction will not be a preferred treatment modality unless the damage to the tooth is Irreversible. Saving a natural tooth is always the priority. Regards
