Pain in one of my knee

I start running from last 2 weeks ....now I feel pain in one of my knee. And a sound of pop when I stand up after sitting for long time. And pain starts after sitting for a long time.what can I do...or it is a serious problem?...when I fold my for morethan 5 mins pain starts and then I have to straighten my knee immediately.to reduce this pain.

Whenever you start running all your muscles around the knee become tight. You need to perform proper warm up and cool down stretches before and after running respectively.Also drink plenty of water. Strengthen your core,gluteals,VMO. Stretch your Hams,calf,IT band.Run wearing a proper running shoe . Avoid hard surfaces like cement pavements.
