Hello Sir First of all we have to find out what is causing the TMJ problem. For this you need to visit a maxillofacial surgeon and TMJ specialist for a proper checkup. Only after that a proper diagnosis and treatment plan can be decided for you. It is a progressive disease and it tends to increase with time so it is very much necessary to find out what is causing it and what possible treatment can be done for the same. Some of the probable causes or reasons that are leading to such problem may be malignment of teeth, Supra occlusion or malaligned wisdom tooth, traumatic occlusion that is also known as trauma from occlusion, changes in the TMJ due to arthritis or any other bone disorder, hyperactive muscle or a condition known as myofascial pain dysfunction syndrome (MPDS)

Health Tips
Do not rely on over-the-counter available medicines or any sort of muscle relaxants. Without knowing the proper cause these medicines are not going to help for long.
