Hello sir, Firstly understand that many conditions can lead finally to osteoarthritis, if it's only due to old age then rhematologist has no role in its management. Further osteoarthritis due to old age is an ageing process so all the drugs an exercises can only delay it's progression but can't completely halt it. So eventually it would need surgery, I'm doing a research work over newer surgeries like Pfo( proximal fibular osteotomy) whish is a minor, easier and cheaper surgery than complete replacement. So please meet an orthopaedic surgeon and think about surgery as it is inevitable. Hope she gets better soon.
