Orchiectomy for androgenetic alopecia.

2024-06-23 10:19:42
Hi, I'm suffering from severe hair fall. I've been diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia. I have tried everything, every treatment possible from the past 3 years. I am able to save my hair but not stop my hair fall. And now it's worse. Orchiectomy seems to be the only solution left, in my opinion. I know its not a solution that any doctor would prescribe but please answer the following questions. Will it work? Is it possible to get it done just for the aforementioned reason? I've done my research (reading articles and documents online), and I am absolutely ok with the consequences. Getting beautiful hair is my first priority as I am not able to enjoy anything, (not depressed though). Please help. I request you to please provide specific answers to the questions. Please elaborate as much as possible on all aspects, that I might have missed. I mention again, I am not worried about the side effects of this. I really thank you in advance.

For androgenic alopecia orchidectomy not recommended. Orchidectomy (surgical removal of one or both testicles) is not a standard or recommended treatment for androgenic alopecia (male pattern baldness). Orchidectomy would result in a significant decrease in testosterone levels, which could have numerous other health consequences, including decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, loss of muscle mass, osteoporosis, and potential psychological effects. The reduction in androgens might have some effect on hair loss, but the risks and side effects far outweigh the potential benefits. Most male pattern hair loss are androgenetic alopiceia , there is hormonal and genetic component associated which can only be influenced,  if at all , by improving nutritional status. But how much it can really be retarded depends on case to case. If aesthetics is really an important concern for you see dermatologist to seek out options for you.
