Quite honestly, you can introduce walnuts, flaxseeds, fish into his diet instead of omega 3 supplements. However if you do wish to, try cod liver oil (which also has vitamin A) Or there are vegetarian alternatives for it as well but you’d rather stick to increasing foods rich in it than supplements
