I’m sorry you’re going through this. The good news is that you’ve already taken an important step by seeking help from a psychiatrist. Postpartum depression is treatable, and with the right treatment and support, most mothers recover.
Keep taking your medication exactly as prescribed, attend your follow-up appointments, and don’t expect yourself to “snap out of it.” Try to share your feelings with a trusted family member, rest whenever your baby rests, and spend a few minutes each day doing something just for yourself, even if it’s only a short walk or listening to calming music.
One suggestion: Along with medication, consider starting psychotherapy (especially CBT or interpersonal therapy), as the combination often helps recovery more than medication alone.
