Need advice: Inhaler & PFT timing

I am using a combination inhaler with Formoterol 6 mcg and Budesonide 200 mcg — 2 puffs in the morning and 2 puffs at night. I have planned to do a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) on Monday morning. This test is my own decision, not suggested by a doctor. My past PFT reports show a continuous decrease in lung function, so I want to understand my current condition. My question: Should I stop using the inhaler before the PFT? If yes, then how many hours before the test should I stop? If no, then can I ask the lab to do both pre-med and post-med testing?

Need to see the cause of declining lung functions. So need a proper consult. Its a good decision to do a pft. Although you do need a proper consultation too. Yes you need to stop inhalers 12 hours before pft with bdr. Yes pft with bdr is done pre and post medication.

Hi stop 12 hr before the test and do PFT with BDR with DLCO with FENO as well Get your chest xray done as well

take the night dose..wait 12hrs at least and go straight for pft in the morning. go for pre and post bd pft along with DLCO if your lung functions are towards decreasing trend..connect with a pulmonologist  once done

Stop taking inhaler 12 hours before. YES you can do both Pre and Post in same sitting. Also get a Chest CT done if your lung function is in decreasing trend as u r saying. Kindly get consultation for detailed evaluation after Spirometry Pre and Post.
