Neck / Shoulder muscle pain

Having pain flowing from left side of my neck to my shoulder since 3-4 days, today I woke up and couldn't lift my hand straight up to tie my hair due to the pain, seems like a throbbing muscle pain behind my shoulder. Haven't consulted anyone till now for the same. Kindly advice what this issue is.

It could be a nerve compression in the neck radiating to shoulder. What is your occupation? Do you use a computer or mobile phone a lot?
