seems like locking of facet joint just apply some hot towel on it, and do gentle motion within pain-free ranges and then repeat the same for 3 times and then apply ice bag or ice pack on it for 5 mins and rest in head neutal position

Looks like the lock may be due to deep muscle tightness or facet lock . You need to relax with proper support and reach a near by physio for release

This could be muscle spam due to jerky movement or abnormal posture which is quite normal.
Next Steps
Start applying heat pack to relax the neck muscles. After you find a bit relief go with isometric streching (10 reps for 5 seconds) of the neck in pain free region. Please avoid using pillow during sleeping for a while because it will trigger the pain due to elevated position of neck. Follow the exercises twice a day.

Hi, The restriction to neck movements can happen due to many reasons such as if you lifted anything heavy while working, using more pillows to sleep, sleeping in an awkward position or due to stress. Think hard and see if you have been part of any of the situation mentioned above. Once you find out the cause, if the pain and other symptoms are mild, I would advice you to start stretching, avoid strain, rest and apply moist pack to relax your neck and upper back muscles. Sleep without pillow for longer hours and do not lift anything for time being. Furthermore, if the symptoms do not subside or increase in intensity, please visit to a nearest doctor to check if there's anything else causing neck restriction.
