Can cavities reversed or prevented with the change in diet? I have a cavity that has just started to form. I can't visit the doctor soon so need to stop it from spreading.

Hello sir... yes cavities can be somehow prevented by change in diet..avoid sticky and sweet food items....reduce the frequency of intake of carbohydrate food items....brush and floss twice daily... Do rinse with mouth wash twice daily(morning and night) after food....visit dentist for every 6 months and do teeth cleaning and general check up....initial caries can be treated by use of fluorides....and other caries can be treated by simple fillings .....

Namaskaram, once a cavity starts they can't be reversed back. The only way to treat them is for a dentist to drill it out and refill it with a resin or amalgam. Use a fluoride toothpaste and a mouthwash twice daily. Visit the dentist as soon as you can. Team Shambhala.

Try to consume less sugars.Brush your teeth twice daily And if you have an initial cavities , get them excavated and then immediately filled either by composite or amalgam otherwise it will worse and cause more decay , then you have to go for complex procedures ... The main cause of caries is more sugar consumption.
