Hello there. He might be having a lower respiratory tract infection which is causing these symptoms. But ascoril expectorant will just give him symptomatic improvement. But he might also need a course of antibiotics. So give him ascoril but do take him to a paediatrician and get him checked out for the treatment of the root cause. Regards
