My sister has a 1.5 month old baby.she has trouble breastfeeding. She got lumps in her breast and an unbearable pain.. what can she do now ?

The lumps are basically due to the retention of breast milk Either the feeding was not proper or was not drained completely Even if the breast milk is being sucked correctly by baby we have check whether any retention or else we have to check draining physically by applying pressure on all parts

Visit her gynaec asap. While breastfeeding milk gets blocked in the ducts of breast and form a cyst(non cancerous).Kindly do the following 1.Gently massage the cyst towards the nipple. 2.Important to maintain bresst hygeine during breastfeeding-cleaning nipples after every feed. 3.Offer baby one breast  alternatively for feeding that way both breasts will be emptied out. 4.Need to visit gynaec as she can get fever due to blocked ducts.
